Bask, born in 1956 at the Albigowa Stud, is one of the most famous Polish thoroughbreds in the world. Sold in 1961 to Lasma Arabians Stud (USA), there he created "a new standard of the Arabian breed". Today, 90% of purebred horses born in the USA have Bask blood in their pedigree.
Mr. Roman Pankiewicz, a breeder in the Albigowa Stud in the 50s, emphasized that he was not the breeder of Bask, but God Himself.
Bask came from aristocratic Arab families. His father Witraż was the best representative of the Kuhailan Haifi family (Witeź II, Wielki Szlem, Wyrwidąb). Mother Bałałajka gave birth to the most beautiful mare in Polish post-war breeding - Bandola, called Królowa Janowa.
It was Bask who contributed to the creation of the world-famous term "pure polish" in Arabian horse breeding - pure Polish, which is the best showcase of a horse bred in Poland or coming from Polish parents.
He passed away on July 24.07.1979, XNUMX, but lives on in the successes of his offspring. The history of this stallion is absolutely extraordinary and still living legend
