Arabian horse breeder Petronius Frejlich writes about Roman Pankiewicz:
In the years 1940-1946 exiled to Siberia. He worked, among others, in the taiga, coal mine, then for a number of years with horses. Manager and then deputy director of the Horse Stud in Albigowa (1951-1958). Breeder of the legendary Bask, called "The Revelation of America".
For almost all his life he collected materials about Arabian horses and wrote about them. And he did it all to share his work with others. This is how the books "Polish breeding of purebred Arabian horses 1918-1939", "Register of Polish purebred Arabian stallions used in breeding in the years 1944-1993" vol. 1 and 2 or "The Magnificent Seven" were created.
He promoted Polish Arabian horse breeding through lectures at courses in Canada and presentations at breeding conferences in the USA, devoted to the Polish Arabian horse.
Roman Pankiewicz died on December 6, 2016, aged 92. He was buried at the Cemetery of the parish of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Poznań, Naramowice, in section N2, row: 16nd place: 52.459162,16.938719 (XNUMX, XNUMX).
