Bronze medalist (team) of the World Championships in Four-in-Hand Driving (Apeldoorn 1976), 2x silver medalist of the European Championships (team Sopot - 1975, Donaueschingen - 1977, Zug - 1981), bronze medalist of the European Championships (team Haras du Pin - 1979; ind. Zug 1981).

He was born on March 19, 1919 in Goździechów, Kościan County, Poznań Province. He died on June 3, 2003 in Wałbrzych. Father Jacob. Sister Mary. Brothers Walenty, Stanislaw, Jan. Wife of Franciszek née Obrzycka. Eugenia's daughter. Sons Zygmunt and Andrzej. A player of the Sudety People's Sports Club in Książ.

(...)

He had worked his years in the Pack without reproach. He was punctual, precise and demanding. When he was retired, he used to go to Pańków near Świdnica to the Kazimierz Mazurek Stud and help train horses. At work, he didn't let a handful of hay get wet. He cared more about horses than himself.

(...)

Paweł Mazurek, an excellent rider, drove horses trained by Władysław Adamczak, who was a teacher of horses bred by Kazimierz Mazurek, his father and by him.

In the book Sledding Sport in Poland, Anna Nowicka-Posłuszna and Marek Zaleski wrote:

“In the years 1970 – 1984, Władysław Adamczak participated in high-ranking competitions thirty times, including seven times in the World Championships and eight times in the European Championships. He was a competitor who prepared horses perfectly.

He was successful in Europe, in the World Championships, in meetings in Aachen. He only failed to win a medal in the Polish Championships. He was fourth. As the athletes say, the worst, because not medal. However, Władysław Adamczak's medals from the World and European Championships remained.

Horse breeding is a tradition in the Mazurek family. Kazimierz Mazurek was born in Kresy Wschodnie, where his father bred repair horses for the army. Immediately after the war, the family moved to Lower Silesia, where in 1968 Kazimierz bought the current farm, then 5 ha, and with it several working Silesian mares. By 1982, the area was increased to 22 ha. During this time, the farm specialized in breeding red-and-white dairy cattle. The basic herd consisted of 8 mothers, and 70% of the cows were entered in the register of high performance. With time, however, only horses remained in Panków.

From the beginning, horse breeding in Panków was at a high level. Both private owners and state herds were interested in the purchase of "Panków" horses. This is how two mares found their way to Stud Strzegom: Perła (Poświt – Poetka by Rum) foaled in 1974 and Agata (Annex - Aga by Derwish) b. 1973, became SK Strzegom.

Over time, the breeding farm changed its specialization from horses of the Silesian breed in the fast-working type to noble horses in the riding type. In 1976, three tarant-shaped offshoots were purchased from Michałów Stud: class Mimi (Tajfun – NN), stallion Sawoy (Dewey xx – Sulima), who was the founder of his own line through his daughter Serbia (Sawoy – Awantura śl) and Ogier Mirza (Tajfun – NN). None of the three survived in the herd - Mimi, dam of Dukat, once the leading stallion of Michałów Stud, was sold to the Netherlands, Sawoy - neutered, sold to the Netherlands and Mirza - also neutered and sold.

Kazimierz Mazurek in Panków, 1981.

Karola Mazurek:

“Probably the best man I've ever met in my life, without him I wouldn't have my horses, riding and many other things ... I think he is - somewhere - and would always be! my big fan, not only when everything would be successful, but above all also when I would fail again...

He had passions in life, which became his life and thanks to him, also ours. People like him don't exist anymore.

Those who knew him know those who didn't know him will take my word for it... My Grandfather Kazi Mazurek for Christmas and after."

One of the last photos of Kazimierz Mazurek, where he presented a pair of Lesser Poland horses he bred.
From the right, Ludwika Mazurek and Artur Bober during the meeting at the Polish Show Jumping Championships MP Biały Las 2022.

Memories of Kazimierz Mazurek:

"Kazimierz and Ludwika Mazurek. Polish farmers and horse breeders whom I had the honor to meet during my work at the Stragona Strzegom club (next to SK Strzegom). They both emanated family warmth, extremely polite and hospitable (I still remember our evening meetings with Mrs. Ludwika's wonderful cake and Mr. Kazimierz's good wine.

Despite the distance between us (Panków - Cieszyn), we still maintain our acquaintance and let this entry be an expression of appreciation of our family (Anna, Artur, Marysia and Marcin and our three grandchildren, Frank, Tymek and Irenka for the multi-generational family of Kazimierz Mazurek."

A word about Kazimierz Mazurek by Mr. Zbigniew Dąbrowski, Director of the Książ Stallion Stud:

“Kazio was my friend for sure. And I think I was also someone for him to be friends with. We both had similar thinking in horse matters, which eventually resulted in the idea of organizing amateur teams every year. Kazio and I managed to organize these competitions for three years, each year there was greater involvement of people and more and more amateur participants from all over Poland. That's what we meant.

Kazio suddenly left. A huge blow to family and friends. But life goes on and that's the way things are.

A project was created so that amateur driving competitions, already as the Kazia Mazurka Memorial, would continue to take place every year. Kazio was present with us in spirit in this undertaking, and let this Chronicle - the work of his relatives - be a testimony to that."

Casimir Mazurek died on October 25, 1990, aged 61.
He was buried in the cemetery of Śmiałowice Parish.
