After leaving Walicki's stable, he worked for Stawski and Dorota Kałuba for eight years, winning the Derby three times on the horses of this outstanding trainer (1997 - on Mustafa, 1998 - on Arctic and 2000 - on Dżamajka). He would probably have also won in 1994 on Limak, but three weeks before the race he had to undergo appendicitis surgery.
